The Longere is a traditional Breton long barn dating from the 16th
Century, which has been renovated to a very high standard to provide spacious and comfortable accommodation for short or long stays. The largest of the two properties currently available, it sleeps 6 people and is available to rent from March to October, with other periods possible. Cots are also available. Each of the 3 bedrooms in the Longere are spacious enough to accommodate a cot.
The Longere (Sleeps 6)
Living/ Dining Room
Enter through French doors into the spacious open plan ground floor living, dining & kitchen area, with oak style flooring throughout. Furnished with contemporary furniture, comprising 3-seater sofa, 2-seater sofa, recliner and footstool, coffee and side tables. TV, DVD, CD player, ipod dock, books and DVDs to borrow, 6-seater dining table & chairs, heated by a new woodchip burner if heating is needed. We include two bags of fuel per week, more is available if you need it for a small cost.
The kitchen is fully fitted with a Rangemaster stove with two fan-assisted ovens, grill & overhead extractor, fridge-freezer, & dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and kettle. There’s ample cupboard space, butcher’s block with wine rack, and an extensive range of cooking equipment, cutlery and crockery. If there’s anything else you need for cooking please ask. Guests are welcome to use the fresh herbs from the gardens.
The longere has 3 bedrooms and 3 shower rooms.
One bedroom is on the ground floor, and this can be offered both as a twin room or as a super-king size double if required. This room can be accessed from the living area and also has its own access from the front of the property. The room is furnished with two single beds, bedside drawers, ladies wardrobe, gent’s wardrobe, and a large tallboy. There’s a sofa for relaxing in private. The en suite shower room is spacious with a 1200 x 800 shower, with fixed seating and hand rails, and 2 heated towel rails. The shower rooms are all ventilated.
Upstairs there are 2 further double bedrooms. The Master bedroom is very light and airy with the most wonderful 6’0” solid oak bed. This luxurious south facing room benefits from lots of natural light, is fully carpeted, and is furnished with a triple wardrobe, dressing table, bedside cabinets, chaise longue and sofa. The en suite shower room has 1200 x 800 shower, heated towel rail & contemporary fittings.
The third bedroom is also a twin/double, fully carpeted, with two 3’0” beds (can also be a superking size), bedside tables, chest of drawers and wardrobe. There is a further shower room next to this room, which has also been newly fitted in 2013, providing shower, hand basin, heated towel rail, and WC.
Externally, the Longere has a large terraced area to the front, overlooking the gardens, with table and chairs to seat 6, together with comfortable garden furniture. To the rear there is a secluded terrace overlooking the rear gardens, an ideal spot for breakfasting al-fresco or cooking outdoors. A gas BBQ and large parasols are also provided over each seating area.
Bed Linen, dressing gowns, hairdryers, towels, flannels, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner & soap are provided.
All bed linen is provided and is either Egyptian cotton or poly-cotton mix. Your beds will be made up for you on your arrival. We have a selection of pillows and duvets available, including hypo-allergenic or natural fills. Please state your preference (if any) at the time of booking. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.
A totally separate laundry room is available for the use of guests, with two washing machines and two tumble dryers. We supply eco-friendly washing liquids and fabric softeners. If the weather permits we would be very grateful if you would dry clothes outside.
Le Clezio is a rural property and whilst we have mains water supply (the tap water is perfectly safe to drink!) we do not have mains drainage. We also provide guests with suitable cleaning products, which will not harm the environment.
Mobile phone reception is generally good around the property. WiFi is available in both properties but signal strength and speed can't be guaranteed. This is because most of the walls are around a meter thick. We will do our very best to ensure you have internet access when you need it.
Please note that smoking is not allowed inside any of our properties. You are welcome to smoke outside in the gardens but please ensure that you do not smoke near other non-smoking guests. Please ensure that you dispose of your cigarettes safely.
Pets are permitted in the downstairs living areas in the properties. Please ensure that you do not allow any pets in any of the bedrooms or bathrooms. Please make sure that you clean up after your pets, we can supply bags if you forget yours!
